The Sherwood Country Club Charitable Foundation’s annual fundraising event raised funds to support programs that address the educational, medical, nutritional, and safety needs of children and families in their community.

Westlake Village, CA, June 2, 2022 – Sherwood Cares, the charitable foundation associated with Sherwood Country Club, announces today that they raised close to $300,000 during their annual fundraising event. The event was hosted on Monday, May 23, 2022 and featured a day of memorable golf on the championship Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, ample sponsorship opportunities, exciting pin prizes and a first-ever outdoor Jazz Concert on the lawn aimed at spreading the word about the work of the Foundation and facilitating donations to support local charitable organizations. 

Major sponsors for the event included StartEngine, Lucy Pet Products, BG Law Group, Amerihome Mortgage, Morgan Stanley, and Audi of Calabasas. The Jazz Concert was headlined by Rob Mullins. 

“We are thrilled to share that we’ve raised record-high proceeds from our annual golf event this year” stated George Carney, President of Sherwood Cares. Bob Jacobs, Sherwood member and the event’s Chair continued, “the passion and dedication of the Sherwood Country Club membership and our partners is certainly reflected in the success of this event that will help our community tremendously.” 

Sherwood Cares just concluded a grant cycle last month where they donated nearly $450,000 to local nonprofits. The funds raised during the golf event will be allocated to local nonprofit organizations in the next grant cycle which ends August 31, 2022.
