“Across our community, nonprofit staff and volunteers are helping our neighbors heal. Heal from hunger. Heal from abuse and neglect. Heal from loneliness, from illness, from struggles with mental health. My heart breaks mostly for the children. Children without enough to eat. Without someone to tell them “you are loved,  “you are safe”, without an adult to lean on when life gets tough.
